Things have slowed down...

...since school has resumed. The second coat's completion has been delayed, surprisingly, by inclement weather, and we've restricted ourselves to projects that can be done in small increments. This translates to Rob disappearing into the garage attic, making loud and incoherent threats to the roof, rafters, drywall, wiring, and tools, and returning to earth covered in grime. He has succeeded in installing a permanent outlet on the ceiling of the garage for the garage door opener, and is currently working on light fixtures and switches for the attic and driveway.

While the garage may be slow and frustrating, other things are moving forward well. Katie's mother and sister were in the Hub City over last weekend. The idea came to Rob that he should try to impress them with his cooking prowess, doing three recipe's he had never tried and that one of them should be a whole bird, which he had never attempted with any recipe. Believe it or not, it was not a disaster. He brined the bird, used almost every square inch of the grill surface, and only lost four potatoes! It was pretty fantastic!

  1. I like the "incoherent threats to the roof and rafters". That's awesome. You better watch it, I may have to start asking to use terms you put on your blog for my novels! LOL

The picture of the grilling looks really good. Great looking kabobs there!

I'm so proud of you, little brudder! I can't believe you've got a house, grilling like a fiend, fixing things up, going to grad school and on top of it all getting married next year! Sure big changes from the guy who used to follow me around begging me to play Play Mobile and Leggos with him!

Congratulations on everything, Rob! And Katie, thank you for being so supportive and helping him out. I'm looking forward to y'all's wedding! I'm sure it's going to be lovely.

  2. Hmm, grilling a whole chicken... you are much more adventurous than me! Glad it turned out well.
