It may not look like much but today was a very productive day. The washer and dryer and other assorted items got moved from storage into the house. The door to the master bedroom was hung. Significant progress was made towards hanging the door to the garage. More issues were assessed and steps were taken towards rectifying them at The Home Depot and Target. And an appointment with the ever important plumber has been made to address the water pressure, hopefully the hot water heater, and definitely the leak in the master bathroom.
That being said, it's the little things that are making this place slightly more livable at the moment and a lot of those happened while Rob was at work. Cinda and Katie did a good bit of cleaning and organizing in the kitchen and added things like a dish drying rack and flashlights in case the lights go out and disposable plates and cups for until the water gets figured out. Joe put the final touches on the master bedroom door, making it plumb and finessing the door so it closes easily, before he put some serious thought into the garage door and the mis-sized dryer duct. A key center was found in the Target trip and installed by Joe, so the many keys to the house, truck, motorcycle, etc, have a home other than whatever flat surface happens to be there. And, last but not least, Katie installed the door knob on the door to the master bedroom.
So, it's small steps at the moment. Baby steps, if you will. But, bit by bit, we'll get there. Joe and Rob will be back at it early tomorrow, more things will get done, more furniture and essentials will be brought back from storage. Gradually, we'll make this place something we can be proud of.
Great photos, Katie! Your summary really fits my assessment of the day. And I enjoyed our supper a lot, too.
