One more step...

...on the way to satisfying the HUD requirements has been completed! For those out there who are unaware, HUD homes usually come with a list of required repairs that must be completed within 30 days and an escrow allowance to cover the costs. Our process started on Monday the plumbing pressure was addressed, along with a rather nasty leak into the wall of the master bathroom. Working with an honest plumber is great; we came out 83% under budget! Not something you encounter every day.
Today Rob finished the project of putting in the door from the garage to the living room which began on Saturday. Most of it was done by the time Joe & Cinda left town, but a significant amount of trim work and caulking was still left. It was all finished this afternoon and we're pretty sure it should be up to the standards. This project was also completed under budget!
Also having to do with garage doors, but not with HUD, the garage door opener is completely functional! Rob was even able to get a remote that works and it only took two trips to Sears! Exterior keypad, remote, control panel, and motion sensors all are configured and work surprisingly well. Now to find a permanent power source...
