Saturday, Katie and Joe started bright and early, tearing rotted trim off the front of the house and replacing it with newly primed wood. The job moved a long quicker than they expected and, by about noon, they were moving their cutting station to the backyard - just in time for Katie and Rob's friend Justin to arrive to help. A self-proclaimed fan of demo [short for demolition], Justin jumped right in while Katie took care a few things inside the house.
Between Joe, Justin and Katie, almost all of the trim was completed by the time Rob got home from work, with the exception of a newly discovered problem section of siding, the piece over the garage door, and the HUD reviled soffit. Rob's arrival matched that of some suspicious looking rain clouds and the time before dinner was filled with a rundown for Rob of everything that had been done and needed to be done yet as well as yet another trip to Home Depot to get what we thought was the last of the supplies. They got home and realized they were short a couple pieces of trim. Another trip to Home Depot is impending.
ed. note: The impending Home Depot trip is now completed. You may be interested to know that 8 foot 1x4s fit inside Katie's car. Completely. None of this weighing-down, hanging-out-of-the-car business you see on Fail Blog. kes
Thank you for the commentary. We out here in non-Lubbock have been hoping to know what's going on out there. Sounds like a lot--and good things.
